It's a fact of life that vehicles can get damaged during a routine transfer - stone chips, stains and bashed doors are all common occurances. These incidents are never deliberate and rarely avoidable, but it is important to ensure that they are recorded properly so that liability for damage can be apportioned correctly.
With the Car Delivery Network mobile application, damage can now be recorded at collection and delivery, providing a complete picture of vehicle condition over the lifetime of a movement.
Contesting damage is expensive
Trust is a vital factor in any business relationship, but even the strongest relationship can be tested when something as simple as contestable damage occurs. Inevitably, one party has to shoulder the cost of unexplained damage, and a lack of conclusive evidence can not only sour the working relationship, it can also get very expensive.
With our handheld technology, that evidence is now simple to gather and store against each vehicle being delivered, through a combination of damage codes, photographs and time stamps.
Damage codes, photographs and time stamps
No other system on the market offers the same level of damage recording as the CDN, and with our new mobile application for Android, it couldn't be easier or quicker to achieve. During vehicle inspection, a driver only has to indicate that they have located damage, and they will be automatically prompted to select an appropriate damage code and take a photo. There is no limit to the number of damage items that can be recorded, and all the information is stored against the vehicle and stamped with the date and time. This data is then sent back to the CDN platform and stored securely for future reference and reporting.
Peace of mind for shippers, carriers and customers
All of this simple functionality gives everyone involved in a vehicle movement the confidence that damage liability will never be contested, meaning that unexpected costs will never be incurred and relationships will continue to grow based on trust and communication.
