600+ Dealers sign up for new CDN portal in first month
Following the launch of Car Delivery Network’s new vinDISPATCH Dealer Portal in the US last month, over 600 dealerships, car rental companies and other OEM final delivery locations have already signed up for access to the 100% paperless system.
The Dealer Portal allows dealers to access information relating to all deliveries received from any carrier, providing a comprehensive overview of all vehicle deliveries. Dealers can track inbound deliveries with real-time ETAs given by the drivers using Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD).
Commenting on the immediate success of the Dealer Portal, CDN co-founder Wayne Pollock said, “We are excited to see this level of interest from the Dealers. It’s clear they have instantly recognized and embraced the value in this free value-add service. On the back of ePOD, dealers seem very receptive to real-time delivery visibility, not having to chase or call carriers for delivery paperwork or to request vehicle ETA. They get visibility of an inbounding vehicle and, once delivered, an electronic copy of the vehicle condition report and proof of delivery at their fingertips, whenever they need it, complete with signatures, photos, dates, and times.”
Car Delivery Network provides electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) applications for outbound finished vehicle movements and has built the free application for the dealer network to simplify access to and storage of vehicle delivery information. The Dealer Portal also supports the carrier's customer service process by making this information available. Currently, CDN’s ePOD solution is delivering approximately 2.5m new vehicles, equivalent to 15% of the US marketplace, to thousands of US dealers annually. The open industry portal allows any dealer to gain visibility of their inbound vehicles in real time along with past deliveries.
It builds on CDN’s ongoing development of ePOD data technology for the outbound vehicle sector. “With many different transport companies making these deliveries, we figured that the dealers needed a single place to view delivery information regardless of which transport company delivered the vehicle,” Pollock says. “The new Dealer Portal provides exactly this and we expect to see rapid and continued growth of the free service.”
According to CDN dealers will now be able to track their vehicle from the moment the trucking company dispatches the load to their driver or sub contractor. From there, the dealer has complete visibility of the vehicle including the trucks ETA at dealership as set by the driver. In addition, the portal provides a single repository of all deliveries and corresponding ePODs for their vehicles.
